Code of Conduct
Liquid Courage isn’t all about rules. We believe that if we foster a community of friendship, and everybody displays mature behavior, then rules are almost unnecessary. There are a few important rules we want to make clear though. Violating these could result in a member’s removal from the guild. All guild members will be accountable for this Code of Conduct.
1. DISPUTES
ALWAYS handle any personal disputes in private. If you feel that you need to, contact an officer for assistance.
2. GROUP BEHAVIOR
Give the raid or party your full attention, remember you are part of a team.
Mistakes happen. Be kind to those that make them, and if you made a mistake yourself, be more careful.
Do not constantly go AFK and make your teammates have to wait on you. If you do have to go AFK, inform your group or raid leader and flag yourself as AFK.
3. LOOT
We are not loot centric. It is a significant part of the game, and we all want it, but it is not our focus. A loot driven attitude is not acceptable.
Loot ninjas will not be tolerated.
4. GUILD POLICY DISAGREEMENTS
Any issues with guild policies should be brought directly to Tribune or another officer. No forum bashing or other public complaining of policies will be tolerated. Civil discussions are always permitted.
5. MALICIOUS BEHAVIOR
Any kind of scamming is not permitted, whether of guild members or anybody else.
6. TIME OFF / INACTIVE STATUS
Life comes first. If a guild member is going to take off significant time from the game or leave the game entirely, but still wants to be a part of Liquid Courage, they need to inform an officer. Otherwise their character will be removed per the guild inactivity policy.
7. UP FOR GRABS (UFG)
Guildies will often link items UFG. As a rule it is given to the first person to request it over chat. Request these items only if you can currently use it with the character you are logged in with. (You may still request an item for an alt or if you can’t quite use it yet but make sure you say so.)
8. BUYING AND SELLING
Attempting to sell stuff to guildies over guild chat is prohibited.
Guildmates shall never make a profit off other guildmates.
When having a guildmate craft something for you, it is permissible to compensate the crafter for any mats they may have provided, always making sure it is a fair market value.
9. LANGUAGE (Both in-game and on the forums)
As a mature guild, we ask guild members to avoid d00d or l33t speak. While this may be hilarious in moderation, it is not how Liquid Courage members communicate with each other.
Be polite.
Profanity, sexual content and obscene content is not permitted in the main guild channel. When in parties or raids this may be relaxed a little bit. Defer to those you are grouped with and don’t abuse it. In Ventrilo always be aware that others may overhear what you say, so be cautious.
Judge the work, not the person. Posts on the forum which result in personal attacks will be removed. Frequent removals will result in expulsion from the guild.
Stay on topic. Off-topic or worthless posts on the forum will be removed.
10. FORUM ACCOUNT
As a member of Liquid Courage, you are member of a community. Guild members are required to have an account on the Liquid Courage forums. This both helps us communicate effectively with the guild as a whole, as well as manage our membership list.
11. DUAL GUILD MEMBERSHIPS
What we are seeking to avoid is having Liquid Courage be a ‘holding ground’ for alts of main characters in other guilds, and to have players splitting their time between Liquid Courage and another guild. We think Liquid Courage deserves the majority of a member’s play time.
Liquid Courage Assets is our spillover guild for ‘mule’ alts and rarely played alts.
Alts may be in other guilds for social reasons. We understand that some people may have a few friends that are not in Liquid Courage and wish to maintain their relationships with them.
Guilds created by players to take advantage of the guild bank feature are okay.
There may be unanticipated situations, please refer them to an officer and they will be handled on an individual basis.
